1982: Getting Started
Sun Microsystems, Inc. was founded in February 1982, with four employees: Andreas Bechtolsheim, Bill Joy, Vinod Khosla, and Scott McNealy. Today Sun can be found in more than 100 countries, employing over 37,000 people worldwide.

Sun Microsystems Belgium was incorporated in February 1991 and has experienced an unrivaled annual growth of 30% or more. The offices in Luxembourg were opened in 1994. Today over 200 people work for Sun in Belgium and Luxembourg.

In a permanent effort to improve customer service, Sun Microsystems obtained in 2004 the ISO 9001-norm for its offices in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Traditionally, Sun Microsystems runs a large part of their business through a partnership model. The Partner Sales Team actively supports resellers and distributors and takes care of Independent Software Vendors, System Integrators and Consultants.

Alcatel, Clearstream, SWIFT, are some of the customers using Sun's network computing technology to provide better service, quicker response times and more accurate information, thereby gaining competitive advantages in their sector.
