That's why Sun, Cisco, and Belgacom are running a test datacenter at Sun's Solution Center in Linlithgow, Scotland. The concept is based on the experience of several European telecom operators (Swisscom, BT, Belgacom) using Full Free Air cooling to substantially reduce the energy consumption in the telecom network.
The test datacenter is running ETSI compliant Sun servers and storage and Cisco networking devices mounted in two racks. All systems are running 24 hours. Temperature and humidity are constantly monitored.The concept can be applied to any datacenter load density. Check it out and let us know what you think!
